What to expect:

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

How do people view the gardens?

A map will be provided on your ticket with the locations and addresses of each garden. Using your own transportation, you may visit some or all of the gardens in any order between 10am and 4pm. Show your ticket when you arrive at the location and then enjoy each garden at your leisure.

What types of gardens will be on the tour?

As in the past three garden tours, gardens for the tour are selected using the criteria of current interest to other gardeners. Many gardens are viewed and then 10 selected. These are gardens that may be beautifully designed, have a selection of rare or unusual plants, woodland gardens, cottage gardens, gardens that incorporate vegetable patches, shade gardens or sunny colourful gardens are all considered and then narrowed down to ten. The most important criteria is whether the garden will be of interest to our tour-goers, and to provide a good variety.

What happens to the money raised through ticket sales?

Funds from the sale of Tour tickets will be directed to

1) expenses related to Tour organization,

2) the purchase of plants and garden supplies for the Delta Hospital Healing Garden, the Mountain View Manor Therapeutic Garden, and the Delta Secondary School Memorial Garden, all three of which are tended year-round by Club volunteers,

3) South Delta Garden Club educational programs and scholarship fund, and finally

4) operational Club costs.
