2022 EVENTS (MEMBERS ONLY)

Garden Dirt Q&A’s (Virtual meeting) - 2nd Friday of the month. This is for members to ask questions and share their knowledge. Members are asked to submit questions with accompanying photos if applicable and we will discuss these in the meeting with the host showing the photos. We will continue during the summer months.

Visit My Garden - this is where members visit a couple of the members' gardens. We share knowledge, learn from each other and see what others are doing. We are starting this up, following the Covid19 health regulations.

  • Sat April 30th - Visit to public Gardens Maintained by the Club - There will be a visit to the three public gardens maintained by the club for the community to enjoy.

  • We visited 3 members gardens throughout the summer

Workshops

Fri May 6 Hanging Moss Basket - Workshop Facilitator, Claude LeDoux, retired horticulturalist, City of New Westminster will show us his tricks to a long lasting flower basket.

Tours

  • Sun April 24th - Earthwise Garden Tour starts at 1 pm. Our April speaker, Matt Johnson, will give us a tour.

  • Wed, May 11 - The Glades Woodland Garden at 1 pm.

  • Sat, June 25 - Petals and Butterflies at 10 am.

Saturday, April 2, 2022, 10 am to 3:30 pm - Vancouver Dahlia Society Annual Tuber Sale

Where: VanDusen Botanical Garden, Floral Hall, 5251 Oak Street, Vancouver

At the tuber sale you will be able to purchase tubers from some of the area’s best dahlia growers. The sale is open to the pubic. No membership required, club members get early access. Please bring your own bag or box for your purchases.

Sat. & Sun. April 23 & 24 Darts Hill's Plant Sale 11 am to 3 pm. On Sat only, Artist in Residence – Susan Murray Magnolia Photography Project. https://dartshill.ca/

Sat May 14th Earthwise Society Plant Sale 10am to 2pm. Find plants for pollinators, shade under trees, dry summers and hard-to-find native plants. Hellebores too. Sale address: 6400 3rd Ave., Boundary Bay.

Sunday, June 12, 2022 - Vancouver Rose Society Rose Show & Sale 2022 from 12:30 – 4:30 pm

FREE ADMISSION to Show (Admission to VanDusen Botanical Garden is through the Visitors' Centre and regular admission rates apply). Also featured at our ‘Judged’ Rose Show: Hundreds of rose blooms judged for ‘Best in Show’, Photography competition, Rose Expert clinics at 1:00, 2:00 and 3:00, Rose plant sales, Floral bouquets for sale, Display roses sold for 50¢ per stem at show end, Information & Membership table. 2016 Events

2016 Club's Plant Sale

May 7th on the Patio of the Delta Hospital Residential Care Home Facility. The Club supports speakers and community beautification projects through the proceeds of its annual sale. Check out the article in the Delta Optimist.

Here is a list of events we organized in 2016 for our members.

March 19th - Day trip by ferry and private bus transportation to Fraser's Thimble Farms on Salt Spring Island.

May 26th - Private tour of fabulous East Vancouver home garden, followed by shopping at Figaro's Nursery, and lunch at Bosa's.

June 26th - Carpooling to the Point Roberts Garden Tour.

July 16th - Carpool to the Bowen Island Garden Tour.

July 23rd - Summer potluck picnic at home of a member.

September 17th - Guided tour of Paulik Park with the Richmond Garden Club park stewards.

December 6th - Christmas potluck party.
